Le Tour de Pennines

Le Tour de Pennines

Fri 20 April

Matt Hodkinson cycled over 90 miles in a day on Tuesday 17th April, to raise money for BTRS, exactly 14 years since he lost his beloved mum to a brain tumour.

Matt, who was born and raised in Yorkshire and now works as a performance analyst for the Newcastle Falcons, has garnered much support from his friends, family and workplace. The Newcastle Falcons rugby team has been raising awareness of Matt’s challenge by taking part in Flat Cap Friday, donating a signed shirt to the charity and publicising Matt’s journey across their social media accounts and on match days.
We asked Matt how he was feeling on completing his challenge, “My main feeling after the ride is being very grateful to everyone who sponsored me, to raise around £2,500 is incredible after my initial target was £500. A lot of people made very generous donations which was very humbling and a big motivator during the ride. Then I'm really grateful to the family and friends who supported me on the day, either coming out to see me or meeting me along the way.”
It's not too late to support Matt’s Le Tour de Pennines, you can visit his JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/matt-hodkinson
