Other Ways To Donate

There are several ways in which you can donate to BTRS and help us to make a difference to the lives of people affected by brain tumours.

Ways You Can Make A Donation

Donate via text

Text BTRS11 plus your donation to 70070, e.g. "BTRS11 10"

It's simple - just text the BTRS code (BTRS11) along with your donation amount to 70070.
For example, to donate £10 to BTRS, you would send the text BTRS11 10 to the number 70070.

Please note: Donations can only be £1, £2, £3, £4, £5, and £10. This donation amount will then be charged to your phone bill as usual (or deducted from your pay as you go credit). To claim Gift Aid on your donation just follow the instructions in the reply text from JustTextGiving.

Gift Aid donations

If you pay tax in the UK, BTRS can reclaim the basic rate tax (25%) on your gift. So, if you donate £100, it is worth £125. Download the Gift Aid Donation Form, once complete, please RETURN it with your donation to BTRS to the above address.

Standing Order

Use the Standing Order Form to set up a regular donation direct to BTRS with your bank or building society. The amount you give is up to you and you are protected by the standing order guarantee.

easyfundraising.org.uk is a great way to raise money for BTRS just by shopping online. You don’t pay anything extra. Let's say you want to buy a pair of shoes from John Lewis. Instead of going to johnlewis.com directly, you first go to easyfundraising.org.uk. From the easyfundraising website, click through to John Lewis to make your purchase. This tells John Lewis you came from easyfundraising. The price of the shoes is exactly the same. After you buy your shoes, John Lewis will give you a cash reward that you can turn into a donation for your good cause. easyfundraising collect this and send it on at no extra cost.

So far donations from the Co-op Local Community Fund is over £1,410 including money from sales of carrier bags that was added at the start! As a member, every time you shop at Co-op, 1% of what you spend on own brand products and services goes to the Co-op Local Community Fund. If you’re a member you can choose the local cause you want your own 1% to go to.  To support BTRS simply visit https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/5966/ and register with simple instructions and you Co-op loyalty card number.

Charitable Bookings

ChariTable Bookings is an exciting new way to search and book thousands of participating UK restaurants whilst raising valuable funds for BTRS at no cost to you. The app has thousands of charities you can choose to support and participating restaurants donate £1 per EVERY diner (e.g. book a table for 4 people and £4 will be donated to charity).  Available only on i-phones currently by downloading the Charitable bookings app.

Give A Car

Giveacar are a not-for-profit social enterprise that can turn your old car into cash for UK charities. We arrange free collection, then either sell your car at auction or scrap it with the proceeds raised going to your charity.

Leaving a Legacy

BTRS recommend you use the services of a solicitor to seek advice on drawing up a will. The solicitor will help you with the different legal aspects and issues and ensure you have legally made provision for all your beneficiaries including leaving a donation to charity.

In Your Will

Consult your solicitor and seek advice on the type of donation you can leave.  Some different types of legacy are detailed as follows:

  • Pecuniary Donation
To leave a specific sum of money, which can be index linked to preserve its value.
  • Residual Donation
To leave a percentage of the residue of your estate after all dependants have been provided for.
  • Specific Donation
To leave part or all of your estate to BTRS.

If you decide to leave a donation to BTRS, your solicitor will need the following details:
