Meetings are professional, friendly and informal and give patients, families and friends a chance to chat with people with a shared experience. Most months we have a guest speaker who is able to share their knowledge and experience with the group on relevant key topics. Social events are organised each year – including a Summer BBQ and a Christmas Meal both of which are funded by BTRS.
BTRS are developing our support services around Yorkshire.
Patients and Carers
If you would like to talk to someone one on one who is in a similar situation to you - either as a patient or a family member who is caring for someone affected by a brain tumour, please get in touch and we can arrange a meeting.
If you would like to discuss a referral to one of our counsellors then please contact Samantha Wilson, our Patient Support Specialist, who can discuss this with you further. Please note carers/families must obtain a GP referral to take up counselling from BTRS.
BTRS work with counsellors across the Yorkshire and Humber region. If you wish to be considered for the BTRS approved counsellors list please contact Sam Wilson.
BTRS are currently working on a paediatric support project funded by BTRS Fund - Harry's Star. The aim of this project is to support families and help children diagnosed with a brain tumour. For more information on the project or to find out how you can get involved please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
